My Cellphone History

When you have Verizon you get an upgrade every couple years to get a new phone, well I haven't always been able to do that since most of my phones have broke before i get the upgrade. Im going to give you a little run down on each of the phones.

On the way left is the Samsung Juke, My first phone. It spins open to the left. It was a terrible phone and broke after a couple months just from normal use. See the big shiny gray circle? Theres a button in the center. That button broke of course. This button happened to be the main menu button... The gray circle was also a directional pad. All four directions, up, down, left, and right all broke. So basically that entire thing was useless. Many of the keys on the inside just stopped working for no reason too. The funny thing is, I never dropped that phone once.

The second phone coming from the left is the LG Voyager. I had two of these phones in total. The first one and the second one both broke from the same problem. On the voyager there is a faulty hinge. Being a flip phone it flips from two hinges running down the side. The top hinge, which would be top left on the phone in the picture, broke on each phone. Now, what this did was make it so the phone would swing open randomly; it just wouldn't stay shut. I'll be in the middle of a phone call and then it swings open and then, hooray! I'm on speakerphone now... So technically the phone was still usable but the broken hinge was just such an annoyance that i couldn't deal with that phone and had to get a new one. I get the new voyager and after about 6 months the hinge breaks again. Im pissed now. I go into Verizon and explain the problem and guess what. They can't give you a new phone if the other one breaks due to a malfunction. Before, I could give them $50 and I could just get a new phone of the same type (if the phone broke due to itself and not the person). My Mom luckily let me use her upgrade since I really needed a new phone.

With the upgrade I got the Samsung Rogue. The Rogue was a great touch screen phone. I had absolutely no problems with it. It didn't break by itself or anything like that. This time I'm actually the one who ruined the phone. I had been sitting in the Jacuzzi txting and had fallen asleep. When I woke up I dropped the phone into the jacuzzi on accident. Now, I couldn't just reach in and grab the phone because the jets shot it around the jacuzzi. So I had to quickly shut them off and look for the phone. Well, I found it and wasn't happy. The screen was flickering in all different colors. Looked like fireworks. So I took the phone out and made the mistake of trying to use a hairdryer to dry the phone. I didn't know of the rice trick at the time. So the hairdryer's heat might have done something to the phone since i exposed it so long. To this day the Rogue works completely fine except for one thing. It permanently gets no service. Everything else works perfect. It just has no connection bars... So just like the Juke, this phone became useless.

Finally, theres the phone on the far right which is the phone I have now. It is the Samsung Alias 2. It is a great phone that is also very durable. I have dropped it several times since I've had it (like 3 months). The phone is definitely the coolest one I have owned on top of that. The little keys on the keyboard change into the different symbols and numbers you would use. Also the phone flips open two different ways. To get this phone, I had to use my brothers upgrade since I still did not have one at the time. I am very happy with this phone though.

Now you now the complete history of all my phones. Also the funny and embarrassing ways certain ones have broken. If you have Verizon and you are looking for a phone I suggest the Samsung Alias 2, the HTC Droid Incredible, The Samsung Rogue. Do NOT lose any of your phones in a jacuzzi, its the dumbest way to lose a phone.
